Paradise
Solo Exhibition + Site-specific Installation at The Dickson Window Project Space, Waubonsee Community College
March 17 - May 9, 2025
Paradise Inspired by William Blake, who is counted as one of the six greatest poets in the history of English literature. This poem "A Grain of Sand" is excerpted from his famous work "Auguries of Innocence”. 100 years after his death, 周作人introduced him to China for the first time. Later, 徐志摩 translated it, and the saying "一沙一世界,一花一天堂" became a famous saying well known to Chinese.
The translation reads as “One grain of sand is one world, one flower is one paradise."
From every tiny life, we can see the vitality of the entire species, and our vitality can "hold infinity in the palm of our hand and let eternity collect the moment."
The essence of this nature and the collected moments is the concept I have gathered to share. In honor for life's existence: an expression of natural spirituality and the human condition.
